The privately run concessions on public beaches are contracted to individual businesses, many who have operated concessions for 20 years or longer. There's so much to see and do in Orange County, it’s no surprise that the O.C. is one of America’s favorite tourist destinations. The beauty of a day outdoors in Orange County is that you can ride a bike, roller blade along miles of paths, or even learn to surf at one of Orange County's beaches.

The best beaches to find concessions are Newport, Huntington and San Clemente beaches in Orange County.  Renting bikes, skates, blades, body boards, surfboards, wetsuits, beach sand chairs and umbrellas are a part of what most of them do. Blessed with more than 40 miles coastal trails and paths, there's nothing quite like riding along the beachfront on a bicycle or skating to the view of the Pacific Ocean. A paved bicycle path runs from Sunset Beach in the north, through Huntington Beach, and into Newport and Balboa Beach to the south. Although you can enjoy nearly 12 miles of solid riding each direction, the beaches beckon, and so do the beach concessions. Selling hamburgers, sodas, water, snacks, chips, fries, cookies, cones and smoothies, you may want to slow down and take an easy pace to enjoy the sunshine and check out the food.
