Pacific Grove is the Monterey Bay hidden gem with affordable hotels located near the ocean, public golf course and lighthouse. The Pacific Ocean is always close by and Monterey Bay Aquarium is walking distance. When visiting, enjoy great outlet shopping next to the Aquarium and the stunning 17-mile drive tour.

Amenities in Pacific Grove include some really charming hotels and bed and breakfast inns. One affordable hotel we've checked out is the Lighthouse Lodge and Suites. Normally offering quite affordable prices, we particularly enjoyed sitting on lawn chairs overlooking a huge lawn expanse where deer fed on the grass. Having come from Orange County beaches where a deer hasn't been spotted in decades, the setting is so incredibly entertaining. From most hotels you can wander down to the beach a few blocks away (or look at the beach from your hotel room or suite), and watch the people run, jog, walk and just relax in this beautifuly Monterey Bay location. As part of a bay vacation, do pick the Monterey Bay and Pacific Grove as your preferred selection. An annual event celebrates Monarch butterflies, known to migrate annually to the local trees in the thousands. It is quite a sight!
