We have a long-time affinity for the city of Rosemead. For years, the publisher of Beachcalifornia.com worked as a vendor for Southern California Edison electric utility, whose corporate headquarters is on Rosemead Blvd. in Rosemead, CA. From time to time we try to get by there just to reminisce. The commute to Rosemead from Orange County, Calif. can be tiresome, but Rosemead offers many unique neighborhoods with cultural diversity ranging from Asian influence to Hispanic, Caucasian and everything else. Golf courses, great restaurants, large business complexes, hotels and close proximity to Pasadena (home to the Rose Parade) are a few of the earmarks of Rosemead.   For tourists, you can take in a horse race at nearby Santa Anita Racetrack, or go to the Los Angeles Arboretum in Arcadia.  One bright spot that tourists from around the globe seek is the Huntington Library and Gardens. From a rare Guttenberg bible to copies of some of the texts of the rare Dead Sea Scrolls, the library itself is an incredible resource for Ph.D. students and a select group of authors.  The public can view displays of some the best known pieces in the collection, then wander through three separate gardens, the Huntington Estate and art gallery featuring works such as The Blue Boy by Thomas Gainsborough and Pinkie by Thomas Lawrence. (What a treat to see the original, when I grew up with one of the replica pieces on my parents' wall!)

It's surprising that this region of Los Angeles doesn't have more hotels, with all the business travelers coming to places such as SCE Corporate Headquarters in Rosemead.  Below are several offerings available.
