San Diego, the warmest spot, to
Disneyland's nearest beaches in
Newport, Laguna & Huntington. But
everybody wants to see Hollywood,
and Santa Monica beaches. On
drive trips, Central Coast beaches
Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Barbara and
Pismo Beach are less crowded, a tiny
bit cooler, and mellow. As you head
your way up the coast, you'll
probably stop at the most visited
State Park attraction, Hearst
Castle. If so, you'll need to book a
room at San Simeon, Cambria or Morro
Bay.
